Peter Pelz, co-director of the Soul of Europe, Lord Hylton, our patron, Ferre Westermanns, a trained diplomat from the Netherlands, together with our colleagues in Bosnia, Adnan Jabucar, Anel Alisic, and Zoran Dukic and myself were the guests of the Islamic community at the inauguration of the Ferhadija Mosque.
An update on all of our work over 2015. We especially want to share one day which stood out among all our activities. On the 29th October we returned to Banja Luka and saw the Ferhadija Mosque now reconstructed as it was in 1579. Even though our direct involvement with the Ferhadija had ended some years ago, Dr Mustafa Ceric the former Grand Mufti of Bosnia said publicly many times: ‘Without the Soul of Europe there would be no Ferhadija.’

Bosnia is approaching another critical period and the scale of the problems facing this small, battered and beautiful country are immense. Soul of Europe aims to ensure that the widespread concerns and demands of Bosnian citizens are placed at the heart of public debate, public policy making and political activity through a proposed National Conference.
